If You Give a Mouse a Cookie...

PART ONE
On Monday Chris was making dinner while I was feeding Hudson in the living room. All of a sudden he goes, "something just went under the stove. I think it was a mouse" of course I am like, "Chris, stop don't try to freak me out" Then once more the mouse runs across again. Chris says, " No I am serious there is a mouse in our kitchen!" Now I am really freaked out, I have never seen a mouse before, especially not in my house. So all these thoughts are going through my head, what if they get in my food, what if they are everywhere and crawl on my face at night, they might smell the milk on Hudson and go after him. I know I am a little crazy! But seriously mouse are disgusting.

PART TWO
Then on Tuesday I am making dinner on the stove right before Chris comes home from work, all of a sudden I see this mouse come out from the corner. I start stomping my feet ( and screaming of course) to get this mouse to hide. He just keeps walking, not even afraid of me. Then I see another under the dishwasher...No way... MICE..now there is a big problem. There could be a family..hundreds of little mice!!!! They had me cornered. So I run and grab Hudson and go upstairs. I call Chris to tell him to get home ASAP!! My dinner is burning on the stove because I am too scared to go back in the kitchen. I didn't see where they went. So we call our landlord, who then calls in a rodent company to kill the mice.

PART THREE
Then Wed morning ( today) the man comes to set up traps. So now we have traps all over our kitchen. Which is just gross! Chris leaves for work ( yes my wonderful husband went to work late because I was too scared to be home alone with a stranger in my house..yes crazy I know) So after he leaves, I am upstairs with Hudson, when all of a sudden I hear a SNAP!!! The mouse trap...I run downstairs only to see my little mouse friend eating the peanut butter with the trap upside down. Why did it not catch the mouse? I knew I had to kill it. Terrified I grab the broom and starting beating the heck out of this mouse. He is screeching, and shaking all other the place. It was so disturbing...I started to cry! I was still beating this mouse. Then it died!!! Happy but feeling terrible I scooped the mouse up and threw it away...I know that's a long story but quite the adventure. I am waiting for round two..to kill his buddy!

sucker....he steps in my house..he is dead
My weapon..the Broom

I love this face of Hudson when I came back upstairs! I am telling him the story...He feels my terror..he heard me screaming!

Oh my gosh. You are hilarious. I can't believe you beat the poor guy to DEATH!! I probably would have done the same thing, and cried. But poor guy! His friend should be VERY scared, haha!

I was seriously laughing so hard. I can't believe you actually killed it! Was there blood? You need to escape the rodent hole (very adorable rodent hole mind you) and come over! Chris probably isn't working much more this week though... next week??

ewww I hate mice too! We knew one was in out kitchen once cuz it had gotten on our counter and started eating some banana bread I had out! I bleached EVERYTHING!! You are so tough to kill that mouse all by yourself, and that looks like it was a pretty big mouse!! Way to go Jill!!

Wow Jill...I am impressed you killed it...I don't know if I could have done that. On the farm Clarks family just steps on them, but I can't bring myself to do it!

Jill you are way braver than you give yourself credit for. I really don't think I would've killed that mouse. I would've just run upstairs screaming and locked myself into a room with my baby. You are awesome. I am calling you if I ever have a mouse problem. And that look on Hudson was so sweet. Can't wait to snuggle him!!
